Are You Called To Be A Deacon?

Deaconjohn1987's Blog

Are you called to discern the ministry of the Permanent Diaconate in the Catholic Church?

The Permanent Diaconate is an ancient and sacred ministry of service dating back to the time of the apostles. Deacons are ministers of charity, the Word and the altar. They fulfill many functions within the Church, inside and outside of the liturgy. And the Church needs good and faithful men to step up today and ask themselves if they are being called by Almighty God to serve the Church through this commitment to holy orders.

Pressure builds on Buffalo’s Bishop Malone September 6, 2019 by Deacon Greg Kandra

The pressure is building on Bishop Richard J. Malone, leader of Buffalo’s Catholic Diocese.

Wikipedia Commons/Public Domain
Over the past 13 months, two of his most trusted confidants — people who worked side-by-side with him for years — have turned against Malone, publicly demanding that he resign from the job he has held since 2012 over his handling of sexual abuse allegations involving priests.
In recent months, some local priests and deacons took the extremely rare action of calling for him to leave office. So did a congressman, Rep. Brian Higgins, D-Buffalo.
Another painful blow to the bishop came Thursday afternoon, when a group of prominent, influential and wealthy Catholics — the Movement To Restore Trust — also abandoned its support.
Soon after that, the diocese announced that a Sept. 11 “listening session” at Niagara University has been canceled because the university no longer wants to host the event. Malone also canceled his annual appearance at a Catholic Charities dinner Friday night, saying he did not want protesters to tarnish an event meant to honor volunteers and donors.

Tomorrow is First Saturday

Deaconjohn1987's Blog

The Five First Saturdays devotion is one of the principal points of the Fatima message. It centers on the urgent need for mankind to offer reparation and expiate for the many injuries that the Immaculate Heart of Mary suffers from the hands of both impious and indifferent men.

On the First Saturday during 5 Consecutive Months, the Devotion consists of:

1. Going to Confession,
2. Receiving the Sacrament of Holy Communion,
3. Saying five decades of the Rosary,
4. Meditating for 15 minutes on the mysteries of the Rosary.
All this offered in REPARATION for the sins of blasphemy and ingratitude committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

BREAKING: U.S. House votes to permanently ban taxpayer funding of abortion | News | LifeSite

This legislation makes the Hyde Amendment permanent.

WASHINGTON, D.C., January 24, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – The U.S. House of Representatives voted 238 to 183 today to permanently ban taxpayer funding of abortion.

The No Taxpayer Funding of Abortion Act (HR 7), introduced by Rep. Chris Smith, R-NJ, makes permanent the so-called Hyde Amendment permanent. Thus far the amendment, which prohibits federal money from being used to fund abortions through Medicaid, has been subject to annual renewal.

The Charlotte Lozier Institute estimates the Hyde Amendment has saved over two million lives since it was enacted in 1976.

A January 2017 Marist poll revealed 61% of Americans don’t support using tax dollars to pay for abortions.

The No Taxpayer Funding of Abortion Act also removes abortion funding from Obamacare while legislators consider replacements for Obama’s signature healthcare law.

Planned Barrenhood Caught Out Again – 95% of Offices Don’t Even Know what Pre-Natal Care Is

A Blog for Dallas Area Catholics

LiveAction is out with another blockbuster expose on BabyMurder, Incorporated, aka Planned Barrenhood.  Live Action checked in with almost 100 Banned Parenthood facilities, and found that almost 95% of those not only did not provide any sort of pre-natal care (other than offering to kill the baby), a large number didn’t even know what the heck that term meant:

A new Live Action investigation shows Planned Parenthood employees confirming what pro-lifers have been saying for years: Planned Parenthood is focused on abortion.

The new investigation, “Abortion Corporation,” explores the abortion group’s claims about being an essential women’s health care provider. Planned Parenthood has been putting extra emphasis on its non-abortion services recently in an attempt to justify the $500 million in taxpayer money it receives every year. Its leaders claim that being defunded would hurt millions of women who depend on Planned Parenthood for services like prenatal care…

Indiana middle school worksheet describes woman who is ‘very fortunate’ to live under Sharia law – TheBlaze

We cannot start the day with a moment of silence in our classrooms because some psycho brainwashed Christian or Jew might accidentally utter a prayer, contaminating the pure, clean air of atheism and amorality. We can’t post the 10 Commandments in schools or offices or courtrooms-never mind that the principles embodied in them are the basis for every civilized society- because they came form that…that…that…BOOK! And if you happen to come across a pine tree decorated in garland and hanging ornaments and lights you may call it anything you like except that scary, offensive and politically incorrect name Christmas Tree, which apparently strikes terror into the hearts of all those who are way too sophisticated and educated to to have anything as antiquated and quaint as Faith in God. But apparently, at least according to these school officials, Sahria Law is just fine and dandy. Yet another reason to home school if you are able..

Parents are criticizing school administrators …
